Emma Kayhart, Puzzle #1, Screenprint and cut paper, 2019

Emma Ming Kayhart grew up in Atlanta, and then moved to Boston where she earned her BFA in Graphic Design from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She has also studied at Penland School of Crafts and the University of Georgia Study Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy. After graduating from college, she interned at Atlanta Printmakers Studio and Atlanta Contemporary. She now works as a graphic designer and social media manager for an Atlanta dermatology practice.

In her current studio work, she is combining new ideas with remembered thoughts, hand-cut paper, screen prints, the repetition of organic and geometric shapes, and the intentional use of layered space. Recently, she has shown in Little Things at the Swan Coach House, Pressing Matters at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, Postcard Pin-Up Show at MINT Gallery, Party of 90 at Anderson Ranch in Snowmass, Colorado and produces annual sketchbooks for The Sketchbook Project catalogued at the Brooklyn Art Library.
